Answers to our most common questions. If you don't find what you're looking for, don't hesitate to call us!

How can I book a taxi?
The easiest way to book a taxi is by calling +36 21 212 2039 or +36 30 342 5240. You can also send a WhatsApp message or use the online call feature on our website.
Where can I find a taxi in Balatonfüred?
There are two main taxi stands in Balatonfüred: at Castricum Square and at the beginning of Tagore Promenade. Please note that several independent taxi operators work at these stands, each with their own pricing. If you hail a taxi at the stand, always confirm the fare beforehand, as the prices shown on our website apply exclusively to Balatonfüred Nagy Taxi vehicles. The safest option is to call us in advance — this way you're guaranteed to get one of our cars at the rates you see here.
Why was the fare different from what I expected?
Several factors can affect the final fare: the taximeter also counts waiting time (e.g., at red lights or stops), and making multiple stops along the way increases the total. Additionally, several independent taxi operators work in Balatonfüred, each with their own pricing — if you got in at the stand, you may have ridden with a different company. Balatonfüred Nagy Taxi fares are clearly displayed on the outside and inside of our vehicles, as well as here on our website. If you call us in advance, you're guaranteed to ride at our rates with no surprises.
Why don't you answer the phone?
During peak season, on weekends, and at night, we may not always be able to answer your call immediately — we're likely on the road with another fare. We operate as a small team, so during busy periods we can't always pick up every call. At the top of our website, next to the phone number, you'll find our availability indicator. If it shows "Available now", we have a driver ready. If we still don't pick up despite this, it's likely that a driver left their phone on while not actively working — in that case, please try again in a few minutes or send us a WhatsApp message.
Why didn't the taxi stop for me / why was I refused?
If you flagged down one of our taxis and it didn't stop, the most common reason is that the driver was already on the way to a pre-booked fare. Passengers who book in advance (by phone or WhatsApp) always have priority, and the driver cannot abandon a customer who has already ordered a ride. Additionally, taxi drivers are entitled to refuse a passenger if their clothing is visibly wet or dirty, if they are underdressed, or if they are heavily under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Likewise, the driver may refuse the ride in cases of aggressive, threatening, or abusive behaviour. These rules apply in all cases — even if the ride was booked by phone or other means.
When are you available?
We operate with flexible hours. Call us by phone and we'll arrange an available time. At the top of our website, next to the phone number, our indicator shows in real time whether a driver is available.
How many passengers can your cars seat?
We operate 5-seat vehicles: VW Golf, Dacia Logan, and Toyota Corolla. For group transport, we can arrive with multiple cars.
Why aren't there more taxis in Balatonfüred?
Balatonfüred is a relatively small town where the local taxi market is naturally limited in size. The Balatonfüred City Council supports local entrepreneurs — only operators with proven local ties can obtain territorial permits for the taxi stands. This ensures that the service is provided by people who truly know the town and are part of the local community, but it also means the number of taxis is limited. During peak season, on weekends, and at night, all cars may be occupied. If you can't find a taxi at the stand, call us by phone — we'll do our best to help as soon as possible!
Why are taxi fares expensive in Balatonfüred?
Balatonfüred is a seasonal tourist town — yet our taxi service operates year-round, with ongoing costs (vehicles, insurance, permits, maintenance). Our fares reflect this year-round operation. Additionally, several independent taxi operators work in Balatonfüred, each with their own pricing — different fare structures can often cause surprises. Balatonfüred Nagy Taxi's prices are transparent: base fare 1500 HUF, per-kilometer rate 1200 HUF/km. Every car has an official, certified taximeter. We also offer discounts for trips over 30 km. If you call us in advance, you're guaranteed to travel at our published rates with no surprises.
Can I book in advance?
Yes, you can book by phone even days in advance. We especially recommend advance booking for airport transfers. During peak season and very busy periods, however, we may not always be able to guarantee advance reservations — in such cases, we recommend calling on the day of travel to arrange your ride.
Do you accept card payment?
Yes, card payment is available in all our vehicles. We naturally accept cash as well.
Do you transport pets?
Please ask by phone — we try to accommodate! Let us know in advance if you'll be traveling with a pet.
Which settlements do you serve?
